OCEP is a joint undertaking between Europeans and Ghanaians to help enterprising young people to find a placement to do voluntary work in Ghana. To see who are involved and what we all do, check the staff page. OCEP is a non-profit organisation, meaning that we don't need to make a profit. So what is it we want? We want to give young people the opportunity to broaden their mind by experiencing work and life in Ghana. Also, we hope to contribute to Ghana's development by sending volunteers to schools, orphanages, clinics and other projects. In Europe, OCEP is a Dutch foundation (Stichting), officially registered at the Chamber of Commerce (KvK Amsterdam, registration number 14081424). In Ghana, OCEP is registered as a not-for profit company limited by guarantee, with registration number G.16,744. The clip to your right was produced for a Dutch website and could give you an impression of who we are. It was mainly shot at the Teacher Adam Memorial School and the Assin Newtown International School and in it you will see some of our staff members and former volunteers. Please note that the web-link referred to (ocep.nl) is not current any more. Bear in mind that the clip was produced for a Dutch website, but obviously we are open for volunteers from everywhere and in practice more than half of our volunteers do come from countries outside the Netherlands. Our philosophy is that OCEP volunteers pay for their own expenses by means of the OCEP fee and also cover the cost that their host family makes for hosting them. We strive to keep these fees as low as reasonably possible. Sometimes, volunteers decide to raise funds for their project and if we are in a position to do so, OCEP may support these initiatives. If you would like to make a donation to OCEP, you can do so account number 4929513 of Stichting OCEP in Amsterdam. From outside the Netherlands: © OCEP Foundation |
