OCEP is a non-profit organisation, but we do not raise funds to subsidize your volunteering in Ghana. Since we do not aim to make a profit, our expenses are mostly the direct expenses from picking you up, bringing you to your project, orientation, as well as organisational cost such as staff salaries, telephone calls etc. We try to keep the cost as low as possible, but before you go, you need to decide whether you are able to afford the below costs:

One time expenses
- OCEP Fee, to be paid upon admission: EUR 250.00
- Flight ticket, travel insurance, inoculations: varies

Monthly expenses
- Accommodation (host family or room): EUR 70.00-100.00 / month (*)
- Meals: ~150 EUR / month (**)
- Private expenses: such as travel, gifts, entertaining: depends on you (***)

(*) The exact cost differs per project. Please refer to the project pages.
(**) Meals made by host family, home cooking or eating in restaurants will all amount to approximately this amount.
(***) If you spend most of your time at your project, it needn't be much. But cost will add up when you travel and need to pay for transport and accommodation.
